Csodaszarvas

A két vadásztestvér és az agancsos szarvasünő. Az agancsos szarvasünő motívumának eredetét László Gyula a későbbi szkíta művészetre ható "lurisztáni bronzok" idejébe (kb. Kr. e. 1100-600) helyezi. Az újabb kutatás szerint azonban a lurisztáni bronzok az indogermánok Perzsiában való megjelenése előtti idők művészetét reprezentálják, tehát nem lehet szó görög, vagy iráni közvetítésről. A mezopotámiai dámszarvas a suméroknál már a 3. évezredben szent állat volt: a dámünőket a templomok kultikus ligeteiben tenyésztették, s tejüket pl. Lagasban Ningirsu istennek áldozták.
