Magyar vizsla:

 A magyar vizsla ma ismert küllemét feltehetőleg csak viszonylag későn, a ma ismert kutyafajták kialakulásával egyidőben nyerhette el, azonban ősei nagy valószínűséggel visszavezethetőek a Kárpát-medencében már korábban is ismert vadászkopókra. Hasonló vadászkutyákról írásos emlékeket, ábrázolásokat már XVI. századi dokumentumokban is találhatunk, jelentőségük a XVIII. századtól fokozódott. A XIX. század végén már kimondottan vizslaversenyeket szerveztek Magyarországon, ahol a magyar vizslák is eredményesen szerepeltek. A fajta fejlődésében ebben az időben valószínűleg fontos szerepet játszott a pointer. Modern, szakszerű tenyésztése 1920-ban kezdődött.
